Hiss Church offers many opportunities to serve God and our communities. Many dedicated disciples serve the Lord and use their talents on their faith journey to love God and love all. The EVENTS page also list upcoming programs that could use your help.

CHURCH COMMITTEES

On Sundays…

Serve as an usher or greeter

  • CHURCH COUNCIL - provides for planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach, witness, and resources. Chairperson: Bob Jagoe Meetings - scheduled as needed.

  • EVANGELISM - works to bring others into a vital personal relationship with Christ. Chairperson: Judy Heiger Meetings - scheduled as needed.

  • FINANCE - proposes a budget; then raises, manages, and distributes the financial resources of the congregation. Chairperson: Mark Filling Meetings - scheduled by the committee finance@hisschurch.org

  • SPRC (STAFF PARISH RELATIONS COMMITTEE) - confers regularly about the personnel conditions and issues that affect the congregation's total ministry, including healthy life-work balance. They help the staff set priorities. Chairperson: Janey Snyder Meetings - First Wednesdays of even months.

  • SUNDAY SCHOOL - plans and provides for the Christian Education of children and young adults through high school age. Superintendents: Denise Jones, Sharon Cody, and Chuck Solomon Meetings: Scheduled as needed. sundayschool@hisschurch.org

  • TEC - supports other areas of the church with use of technology, social media, etc. bringing the message of God into the 21st century. Chariperson: Ed Heiger Meetings - scheduled as needed. tec@hisschurch.org

  • TRUSTEES - responsible for proper maintenance and improvement of the church buildings and grounds. Chairperson: Chuck Solomon Meetings - scheduled as needed trustees@hisschurch.org

  • WORSHIP - assists the Pastor and staff in planning special and vibrant worship services throughout the church year. Promotes the use multi-media to enhance the worship experience. Chairperson: Donna West Meetings: 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month. worship@hisschurch.org
